Pranayini ("we", "us", or "our") is a real-time video and audio dating application operated by Pranayini IT Services. We are committed to protecting the personal information of everyone who uses our platform ("you" or "User"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how we keep it safe.

By downloading, registering, or using Pranayini, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. This document is published in compliance with Section 43A of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and Regulation 4 of the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

Information We Collect

Account & Profile Data

Full name, display name, date of birth, gender identity, and sexual orientation (optional)
Email address and phone number
Profile photos and bio text
Location (city-level by default; precise location only if you grant permission)
Relationship preferences and interests

Usage & Interaction Data

Swipe history, matches, likes, and messages
Video and audio call metadata (duration, frequency — not call content)
In-app activity logs, feature usage, and session data

Device & Technical Data

Device type, OS version, app version, IP address
Push notification tokens and advertising identifiers (resettable)
Cookies and local storage for session management

Payment Data

Subscription and purchase records
Payment is processed via PCI-DSS compliant third-party gateways (Razorpay / Stripe). We do not store card numbers or CVV codes.

⚠️ We never record, store, or access the content of your video or audio calls. Call content is end-to-end encrypted and transmitted peer-to-peer.

How We Use Your Information

To create, verify, and manage your account
To power matchmaking algorithms and display relevant profiles
To enable real-time video and audio calls between matched users
To send you notifications about matches, messages, and app updates
To process payments and manage subscriptions
To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and safety violations
To moderate content and enforce Community Guidelines
To improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new features
To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data to serve third-party advertisements.

Sensitive Personal Data

Because Pranayini is a dating application, you may choose to share sensitive attributes such as gender identity, sexual orientation, or religion. Sharing this information is entirely voluntary. We treat all such data with heightened protection and will never disclose it to third parties except as required by law or with your explicit consent.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide our services. After account deletion:

Profile data is deleted within 30 days
Call metadata logs are deleted within 90 days
Payment records are retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance
Safety-flagged content may be retained for up to 1 year to assist investigations

Your Rights

Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correction: Update inaccurate or incomplete information
Deletion: Request erasure of your account and personal data (see Deletion Policy)
Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
Withdraw Consent: Opt out of non-essential data processing at any time

Children's Privacy

Pranayini is strictly for users aged 18 years and above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we discover that a user is under 18, we will immediately delete their account and all associated data. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us immediately.

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

AES-256 encryption for data at rest
TLS 1.3 for all data in transit
End-to-end encryption for video and audio calls
Regular penetration testing and security audits
Role-based access controls for internal teams

Despite best efforts, no system is entirely immune to breach. We will notify affected users within 72 hours of discovering a significant data breach.
